BABTAC INNOVATION GRANT WINNER ANNOUNCED

Faceframe 3D Eyebrows celebrate after being announced the winner of BABTAC innovation grant

The BABTAC innovation grant award in association with Professional Beauty and Olympia Beauty was won by Faceframe 3D Eyebrows on Monday 24th February on stage at Professional Beauty, London. Faceframe was awarded the prize of £8000 to develop their innovative business idea further and get the product recognised within the beauty industry.

Faceframe has developed a completely new treatment, providing realistic 3D eyebrows for those who have lost their hair through medical conditions such as cancer and alopecia, or for those who want naturally thicker brows. Unique in the market, Faceframe adheres synthetic eyebrow hairs to the skin and can last up to two weeks; a great alternative to make-up, Faceframe is waterproof, moisture proof and easily removable.

All four finalists FaceFrame 3D, Nuekie, Injex (Shireen) and the Glow App presented live in front of the panel of judges in a dragon den style format.  Cat Sims, Salon Geek editor, Krestyna Batty, Janssen Cosmetics UK and Katie Hill, Totality Day Spa certainly put the finalists through their paces. In the end, their decision was unanimous as they selected Faceframe 3D as the winner; they felt the product was innovative and new, had demonstrable demand from the industry, was accessible for both salons and individuals and had a wide application for the consumer.

Cat Sims, judge said "It was a real privilege to be a judge for BABTAC and it was inspiring to see such passion and dedication from all in the final. All the finalists offered really exciting and innovative ideas and it's always hard to make a decision in this kind of situation; but Faceframe, for me, offered the beauty professional a real opportunity to maximise their business potential because they hit upon an idea that was so vital and so in demand that you couldn't believe it hadn't already been thought of. I really believe that the beauty industry as a whole and that beauty professional’s throughout the world will benefit from this product - they'll have customers clamouring to get this treatment!"

Sheron Oakley, Faceframe founder, was over the moon and she says "We are delighted to have won the Innovation award. It is fantastic for us to be recognised within the industry through such a prestigious organisation as BABTAC. As a new business it gives us professional recognition and valuable PR. Above all it is the most incredible platform from which we can move forward and represent the British beauty industry internationally.

She continues “We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to BABTAC and CIBTAC for their support in assisting us through this process…bringing our invention to life!"

The BABTAC innovation grant had a number of entries which were whittled down to the finalists, voted by members of the public and industry experts.
