Shops To Get 100% Organic Cotton, Fairtrade Carrier Bags
Biopac, the UK’s leading eco-packaging company, has just launched its Fairtrade, 100% organic cotton carrier bags to the retail market, giving customers the complete ethical and organic shopping experience.
Supermarket shelves are filled with an array of organic and Fairtrade food and drink options for the eco-aware or ethically-conscious shopper. Now, Biopac has closed the loop on the ethical shopping experience, offering organic and Fairtrade reusable shopping bags. Retailers can offer customers a genuinely ethical bag, meaning they no longer have to ditch their conscience at the checkout.
Biopac sources the cotton bags from India and Ethiopia. They are made using materials from sustainable sources and their production helps local communities to work their way out of poverty, as Mark Brigden, MD of Biopac comments, “We make sure all our farmers are paid a good price for their cotton and that their workers are paid above the national minimum wage, and receive health and social security benefits. Introducing the cotton bags gives shoppers and shop owners the opportunity to make another ethical choice should they wish to do so.”
Individual retailers can have company branding printed onto their bags or wraps, as well as being able to choose from a range of handle lengths. The Whole Foods Market chain is already using branded bags. Trade prices are available on request.
