Kristina joined us for a weeks work experience after finishing her A Levels and impressed us so much that we have offered her an 18 month long apprenticeship!
Here's how she got on during her week ... [All copy sic]
After finishing my A Levels, I didn’t know what to pursue. Everyone had ambitious career goals and plans, whereas I only had a brief idea based on one school lecture – marketing and social media. After being referred to apt from a friend (of a friend of a friend, that’s right), they gladly took me in under their wing and organised a week’s worth of work experience for me. My expectations failed me, as I thought I would be doing mundane tasks such as making coffee – but they were the ones making the hot drinks for me! I was floored at how quickly I was dealing with real clients and creating content for them– a lot different to a normal school day.
The atmosphere at apt is friendly and relaxed, yet everyone is constantly working - creating the perfect working balance. I can definitely see the all staff get on well and have a genuine interest and passion for their work. Each task was refreshingly different, so I got to work on a variety of things from blog posts, managing social media accounts, designing logos and constructing website content. The days went by so quickly, which I think was down to always having something to do and actually having fun doing it.
Not only did apt solidify my idea of working in marketing, but they gave me confidence. I discovered talents and strengths within myself that I didn’t even realise I had, which enabled me to really complete the tasks to the best of my ability.
After wrapping everything up on the Friday afternoon, thinking it was time to go home, I was called upstairs by the Managing Director. She had recognised my hard work and actually offered me an 18 month long apprenticeship with them – I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! I’m very much looking forward to working with these guys for another year, and hopefully achieving something brilliant. Thank you apt marketing!
