Its owners are over the moon with this completely unexpected recognition as the venue has only been open for less than 7 months. The ‘Judges Choice Award’ is presented to the entrant considered by the judges to stand head and shoulders above the rest of the category winners in offering an outstanding service, and exceeding the expectations of their customers.
Tree Top Escape is situated on the Millbrook Estate near High Bickington in North Devon. Bob and Kate Boothby, owners and creators of Tree Top Escape, attended the South West Wedding Awards ceremony in Plymouth last Friday with the rest of their Millbrook team. “We were completely stunned when this award was announced as we weren’t expecting it at all and it usually goes to well-established businesses. No-one has any idea who’ll receive the honour as it’s not a formal category and the judges decide amongst themselves.” said Bob Boothby.
He continued “We attended the ceremony because Millbrook Estate, where Tree Top is located and where we offer another venue for ‘runaway weddings’, had made it to the final of the Wedding Venue category. We only opened Tree Top Escape last July, though on the first day we already had 21 bookings from couples who’d decided to marry there on the strength of the artist’s impression on the website!”
