cibtac addresses market gaps via salon and spa management qualifications

Leading industry organisation pioneers Salon Management courses.

Global Spa and Wellness Summit (GSWS) recently reported* training and education as the “greatest challenge facing the spa industry today”. The principal awarding body in beauty training, CIBTAC, answers top industry executive’s cries for a higher standard of salon management personnel. Evidence suggests that there are simply not enough people with the right skills to fill management-level positions. These ‘hard and soft skills’ are not being taught collectively to industry trainees and are especially important in setting them up for managerial roles.

CIBTAC provides a Level 4 Salon Management course specifically catered to develop these skills. The course addresses 5 modules, management of health, safety and security, salon management, sales management, marketing and public relations. Appropriately, these are the areas in which spa managers and directors would like to receive more training according to the GSWS.

CIBTAC have also recently endorsed their first training provider – Spas2b – who has been accredited with CIBTAC status. Their partnership offers two Online Spa Management distance learning courses. Many management level staff can often be too busy to take time out of their day/evening to attend college to freshen up outdated or ineffective business routines. The nature of the course allows individuals to maintain their learning at home and monitor their success.
