Cotswold Christmas Fair Raises £480 in aid of Children’s Charity

The Inn at Fossebridge has raised £480 by hosting a Charity Christmas fair in aid of Hop, Skip and Jump, a Cotswold charity which provides play and support centres for children with special needs.

Festive gifts and services from an array of local companies were exhibited in the adjoining Coln and Bridge rooms at the family run inn, each offering something unique ahead of the festive season.

As the first Christmas Fair to be held at the inn, owner’s Samantha and Robert Jenkins are extremely pleased with its success, as Samantha commented, “The event was a big success and the master classes were hugely popular. We’re extremely proud to have raised a healthy sum for such a worthy local charity. Support and feedback from stallholders and guests has been wonderful and we are already looking at holding a similar event in the Spring. A special thank you to everyone involved and to R&R Catering hire for kindly donating the tables and coffee cups and to Rocket Coffee.”

Stalls included Christmas gifts from Fairford based company, Enntwine and Cotswold Gifts, handcrafted bags and purses by Funky Diva Designs in Tetbury, baby blankets and accessories from The Stripy Company in Cheltenham, handmade Jewellery from Biba Designs and hand-painted furniture by Katie Bonas. A selection of homemade jams and chutneys from the Inn’s kitchen proved popular, especially the Damson Chutney. Our award winning Head Chef, Matt Wardman gave a short demonstration on “Easy Christmas canapés”, allowing visitors to actively get involved in the fair and sample the creations.

Professional make-up artist, Emily Tarrant also gave a masterclass, showing guests how to achieve a beautiful and natural daytime look as well as achieve glamorous makeup just in time for Christmas parties.

Each of the stallholders generously donated to the charity and offered a raffle prize.
