Celebrity Wine Tasting

Background:

With its prominent location right in the heart of sophisticated Montpellier and its reputation for good food and fine wine, the Montpellier Wine Bar is right at the centre of the local social scene.

Objectives: 

To celebrate and raise funds for Gloucester Rugby player Olivier Azam’s testimonial year. The Montpellier wine bar asked us to organise and promote a celebrity wine tasting evening.

Actions:

We decided to theme the event as a ‘wine man’s bluff’, with Olivier Azam and Worcester Rugby’s Kai Horstmann hosting the event. Public tickets to the event were made available with a number of celebrities from the sporting world also attending. Each person was given a taster of a wine and 3 descriptions were read out about each wine; everyone had to guess which description was right...

Results:

The event was a sell out and saw fantastic integration between members of the public and icons from the world of rugby, cricket and horseracing. Money was raised for Azam’s testimonial, with extensive and positive coverage in the local media.
