EMPLOYERS MOVE TOWARDS SELECTIVE OUTSOURCING

Employers move towards selective outsourcing to snatch elite graduate talent

The impact of accelerating graduate numbers and declining quality control continues to be reported in the press as employers continue to struggle to fill vacancies. One unique graduate selection consultancy suggests sharing responsibility and a clear course of action is now needed …

The future directors of tomorrow are ready and waiting as many employers are discovering, but the time and expense wasted on graduate recruiting, together with the risk of dropouts and ill-suited appointments are causing a painful strain on company resources. Employers are quickly discovering that one very different graduate selection consultancy is supplying them fast with dream candidates that have the right career expectations; attitude and interpersonal skills ‘ready to go’. They are not only doing the job well, but have a better company ‘fit’ and are gaining through their achievement and personal goals set by this unique selection consultancy as ‘aftercare’ services. The employer’s life has never been made so easy.
The time has finally come for graduate and employer to take responsibility for each other and make things happen together. The right recruitment processes need to be set in place to weed out the ‘weaker’ graduates so that employers only spends time with the ‘right’ graduates. However Employers do need to be on their guard against haphazard in-house methods, sales driven high street recruitment agencies and opt for a really good graduate specialist. The UK has just as many ‘top’ graduates today, but they are much tougher to find. In the 1960’s there were just 200,000 students, today there are over 2 million – a ten-fold increase.

Rather than recruiting graduates onto a scheme or programme, employers need to actively recruit graduates into ‘real’ jobs i.e. those vacancies they need to have filled. These traditional schemes / programmes are being slimmed down in terms of numbers and in some cases being dropped altogether in place of ‘recruiting to vacancy’.
Simon Reichwald, Director of Graduate Success, states, “We want to help our clients grow their pool of bright young talent and thus secure the future management of their business. We also believe that we should share the responsibility for the success of the graduates we place. Graduate Success achieves this through rigorous screening, face-to-face assessment and continual networking of pro-active graduates. We also run tailored training and coaching for those graduates to ensure they deliver outstanding performance to match employer’s bespoke needs. Going the extra mile above the standard ‘quick-hit’, sales driven recruitment and other graduate agencies, we will not stop until we have found the required quantity and quality of graduates.”
