Purple Day
On 10th September 2010, Gloucestershire is turning purple.
The Cedars Amethyst Trust is holding a day of fundraising on Friday 10th September and inviting all of Gloucestershire to join in. The charity based from Cedars Health & Beauty in Gloucester, request that companies and individuals wear something purple and contribute £1 to the Trust. So far, two major supermarkets (including Sainsbury’s at Gloucester Quays and Morrisons in Abbeydale) have agreed to have donation buckets at their stores, along with a number of other local businesses.
Marketing Gloucester’s Business Champions programme, will also be supporting Purple Day and are hosting The Amethyst Ball on the evening of the 10th September, to help raise funds for this worthy cause. The Amethyst Trust Ball will take place in the Star Suite at Kingsholm stadium, the home of Gloucester Rugby. Tickets cost £55 per person and will include a three course dinner, auction, raffle and a casino, with all profits going to The Cedars Amethyst Trust. There will also be entertainment from a live band.
